How To Uninstall Antimalware Doctor

Antimalware Doctor is a computer virus that hides as genuine antivirus application. Antimalware Doctor does a phony and overall scan of your PC and tells you that your PC has a virus. Antimalware Doctor real intention is to gather your financial data under the cover of removing the fake virus. In addition, Antimalware Doctor will bring your computer to its knees slowing it down and change your operating system settings, create phony desktop shortcut icons and fill your computer with popup ads. Generally one nasty virus.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy Instructions

Two approaches are provided for removal:

Manual Approach Pros: Free… ( except for your time )

Manual Approach Cons: Dangerous… you can really mess up your registry if you make a mistake.

Automated Approach: Pros: Fast and often Free. Usually within a few minutes. Freeware / Trialware is often available and capable of removing the software without upgrading.

Automated Approach Cons: Freeware does not always remove software completely. Sometimes you must pay for an upgrade to a pro version to do a deep registry cleaning of all left over registry keys. Usually less than $30. This situation depends on the complexity of the software to be removed.

Manual Approach:

End Infected Processes

  1. Press “Ctrl” + “Alt” + “Delete.”
  2. Click on the “Task Manager.”
  3. Click on the “Processes” tab.

Right click on “Antimalware Doctor.exe,” and select “End Process.”
Delete Infected Registry Values

  1. Click on the “Start” menu.
  2. Click on “Run.”
  3. Type “regedit” (without the quotation marks) and click “OK.” The Registry Editor will open.

Locate the following registry values in the left pane of the Registry Editor and delete them. To delete a registry value, right click on it and select “Delete.” Make sure you a careful when you do this and don’t delete anything you are not sure of!

Delete Infected Files

  1. Click on the “Start” menu.
  2. Click on “Search Files and Folders.”

Search for and delete the following files. To delete a file, right click on it and select “Delete.”

“enemies-names.txt”
“Antimalware Doctor.exe”


AUTOMATED APPROACH:

Use a good top rated software removal utility.

If you are having problems uninstalling programs or the programs are not showing up on the list to uninstall the special software uninstaller utilities works very good. I personally do not like using the Windows built in uninstaller simply because it does not do the full job of cleaning up the PC registry and also a lot of programs on my computer that slow it down can not be found or removed with the standard ADD / REMOVE Program standard feature in Windows.. Good solution to this is the free version and upgrade to the pro level if you really need it….
